About Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate

Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate

Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate is a mild, amino-acid-derived anionic surfactant produced by acylation of lauric acid with glutamic acid, typically sourced from coconut or palm fermentation. This white to light-yellow powder excels at cleansing and foaming without stripping natural oils, making it ideal for sensitive skin and baby products. It reduces surface tension to blend oil and water phases, acting as a foaming agent, emulsifier, antistatic agent, and hair conditioner. With excellent biodegradability, hypoallergenic profile, and optimal performance at pH 5–9 (best at pH 6–6.5), it leaves skin and hair soft, smooth, and well-balanced.
