Sodium Hyaluronate
Sodium Hyaluronate is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan celebrated for its superior moisture‐binding capacity in skincare formulations. Its lower molecular weight compared to hyaluronic acid allows it to penetrate deeper into the epidermis and dermis, attracting and retaining up to 1,000 times its weight in water to plump skin and smooth fine lines. It also forms a lightweight film on the surface, reducing transepidermal water loss and reinforcing barrier function while providing soothing, anti‐inflammatory benefits. In formulations, sodium hyaluronate functions as a humectant, hydrator, and barrier enhancer, making it invaluable in serums, creams, and masks targeting dryness, sensitivity, and signs of aging.
